キルギス向けSimbye eSIMの使い方

2分以内に接続できます

1
eSIMデータプランを選択

Set it up before you fly

After your purchase you get an email with a link and a QR code. Set the eSIM up calmly at home over Wi-Fi — it takes a few minutes and uses none of your data yet.

2
インストールをタップ

Arrive in Kyrgyzstan

After landing at Manas airport outside Bishkek or at Osh airport, select the eSIM as your line for mobile data and switch on data roaming for it. If you cross overland from Kazakhstan, you do exactly the same once you are past the border.

3
データローミングを有効化

The clock starts, you are online

Your plan only starts counting on the first connection to a Kyrgyz network. From then on you have mobile data, you can share the hotspot with a laptop or travel companions, and you can top up any time the package runs low.

Kyrgyzstan has three mobile networks: Beeline, MegaCom and O!. This eSIM runs on Beeline Kyrgyzstan, so there is nothing for you to choose and nothing to set by hand. Your phone finds the network on its own once you land. Two things are on you: pick the eSIM as your line for mobile data, and switch on data roaming for that line. Without that switch the connection stays silent even though everything is installed correctly. If nothing happens after a few minutes, airplane mode almost always fixes it: on, wait a moment, off again.

In Bishkek and Osh, 4G is everyday reality, and the same goes for Karakol, Cholpon-Ata and the towns on the ring road around Lake Issyk-Kul. Naryn, Talas, Jalal-Abad and Batken are covered, and the long highway between Bishkek and Osh has signal for most of its length, with gaps at the passes. It thins out in the side valleys and on the jailoos, the high summer pastures: at Song-Kul, at Tash Rabat, beyond Jyrgalan, in the upper Ala-Archa valley and at the Torugart and Irkeshtam border crossings, no signal is the normal state. Above roughly 2,500 metres, do not count on a stable connection at all — that applies to every operator in the country, not just to this eSIM.

Why your home contract gets expensive in Kyrgyzstan

Kyrgyzstan is not in the cheap bundle at almost any mobile operator. What your contract charges here is rarely on the first page of the price list; it sits in a country table far at the back, and Kyrgyzstan usually lands in the most expensive group. Billing is often per megabyte, or in day passes that quietly renew themselves for as long as your phone keeps pulling data in the background.

The unpleasant part is not any single price, it is the lack of a clear picture. When you land you do not know what the day costs, and you find out weeks later on the bill, back home. A data package paid for in advance turns that around: the amount is settled before you fly. When the package is empty, it is empty — nothing keeps running that you did not order. You can top up whenever you want, but it only happens if you do it yourself.

How far the network reaches — and where it stops

Along the routes travellers actually use, signal is the normal state: Bishkek, the road to Cholpon-Ata and Karakol around Lake Issyk-Kul, the south around Osh and Jalal-Abad, plus Naryn, Talas and Batken. The long highway between Bishkek and Osh has coverage for most of its length, with gaps at the passes. In the towns that is enough for maps, translation, ride-hailing apps and video calls.

The moment you leave the paved network, it stops. At Song-Kul, at Tash Rabat, on the high pastures above Jyrgalan, in the upper Ala-Archa valley and at the Torugart and Irkeshtam border crossings, expect no signal at all — that goes for every operator in the country, not just this eSIM. And that is exactly where most people are heading. So plan the mountain days as offline days: download the maps in 2GIS, save the addresses and contacts of the yurt camps beforehand, screenshot your tickets. As soon as you drop back into the valley, the connection returns by itself.

Registration is mandatory — and why it does not apply to you

知っておきたいこと

Buy a local SIM card in Kyrgyzstan and you hand your passport over at the counter and have your handset's device number recorded with the operator. Only then is the card switched on. That rule explicitly does not apply to travellers using a foreign provider's SIM on a Kyrgyz network — which is exactly what this eSIM is. No counter, no ID, no device to declare.

One thing to plan for anyway: Kyrgyzstan runs on cash. Visa and Mastercard work in Bishkek, Osh and the larger hotels, but outside them you pay in som. The payment apps locals use need a Kyrgyz phone number and a local account, so they are not an option for you — withdraw som and carry it.
