كيف تعمل Simbye eSIM لـ the Czech Republic?
اتصل في أقل من دقيقتين
Order before you fly
Pick your package, pay, and the eSIM arrives by email as a link and a QR code. Install it at home on Wi-Fi — it takes under two minutes. The validity does not start yet.
Switch it on after you land
Whether you arrive at Prague Václav Havel Airport (PRG), Brno-Tuřany (BRQ), Ostrava (OSR), Pardubice (PED) or Karlovy Vary (KLV) — or by train from Dresden, Berlin or Vienna — turn the line on in your settings, leave data roaming enabled for the eSIM, and you are online before you reach baggage claim.
Keep an eye on your data
Your normal SIM can stay in the phone for calls and texts while the data runs over the eSIM. When the package runs low you top up online — no reinstalling, no swapping eSIMs.
ما الشبكات التي ستستخدمها في the Czech Republic؟
In the Czech Republic the eSIM picks whichever partner network is strongest where you are.
متوسط أداء الإنترنت المحمول المقاس، مقياس nPerf (فترة القياس 01.01.2025 – 31.12.2025). ما تحصل عليه فعلياً يعتمد على المكان والوقت وهاتفك.
You are not tied to one operator. The eSIM gives you access to the big Czech networks — T-Mobile Czech Republic, O2 Czech Republic and Vodafone Czech Republic — and your phone picks the strongest one after you land, switching as you move. If you ever see no bars at all, go into your settings, change network selection from automatic to manual, tap a different Czech network, then switch back to automatic. Data roaming has to stay on for the eSIM; that is normal for a travel eSIM and costs nothing extra.
Prague, Brno, Ostrava, Plzeň, Liberec and Olomouc all have fast, consistent coverage, with 5G in most larger cities. The Prague metro has been fully covered since 2021 — all 61 stations plus the tunnels between them, so you stay online between Můstek and Háje. Coverage along the D1 motorway (Prague–Brno–Ostrava) and on the rail lines to Karlovy Vary, České Budějovice and Český Krumlov is solid. It thins out in the valleys of the hiking and ski regions: Šumava (Bohemian Forest), Krkonoše (Giant Mountains), Bohemian Switzerland, the Jeseníky mountains and the rock towns of Adršpach. Download the map offline before you head out there and a dead spot in the forest stops mattering.
كم من البيانات تحتاج في the Czech Republic؟
So you can work it out instead of guessing: how much an hour costs in the apps you actually use on holiday.
The Netflix and Spotify figures come from the providers themselves (Netflix Help Center, Spotify Support, retrieved 28 Aug 2026). The rest are network-operator estimates (o2, Vodafone, EE) and vary with picture quality and reception.

When your own contract gets expensive in the Czech Republic
The Czech Republic is in the EU, and we are not going to pretend this eSIM saves you roaming fees: if you hold a contract from an EU country, you generally browse in Prague on your home terms. It gets expensive or annoying in four situations — and those are what this package is for.
First, you are coming from outside the EU. For travellers from Switzerland, the UK, the US, Türkiye or Asia the EU rule does not apply, and home operators' international add-ons are billed per day. Second, your tariff gives you less data abroad than at home: on cheap prepaid and discount tariffs operators are allowed to cap the EU allowance, and you usually find out only once it is too late. Third, you run out mid-trip, and buying more from abroad costs noticeably more than a small local data package. Fourth, you simply want a second line — for a tablet, a work phone, or to keep personal and business traffic apart. In all four cases your usual number stays active in the phone, WhatsApp and calls keep working, and the data comes from the eSIM.
Where the networks actually reach
Coverage in the Czech Republic is good, and not only in Prague. Brno, Ostrava, Plzeň, Liberec, Olomouc and České Budějovice all have consistently fast service, with 5G in most of the larger cities. The Prague metro is a special case in your favour: T-Mobile, O2, Vodafone and CETIN built out the entire network between 2015 and 2021, all 61 stations plus the tunnels, so you can keep navigating underground instead of surfacing at every stop. You also stay connected along the D1 towards Brno and Ostrava and on the rail lines to Karlovy Vary, Kutná Hora and Český Krumlov.
Two things are worth knowing. First, the hiking and ski regions: valleys in Šumava, Krkonoše, the Jeseníky mountains, Bohemian Switzerland and around the rock towns of Adršpach have dead spots — download the map offline beforehand and it stops being an issue. Second, the borders: the Czech Republic has long frontiers with Germany, Austria, Poland and Slovakia, and within sight of them your phone sometimes grabs the stronger signal from the other side. If a German, Austrian or Polish network name suddenly appears on your screen, you have no connection through this eSIM. Set network selection to manual for a moment, choose T-Mobile CZ, O2 CZ or Vodafone CZ, then switch back to automatic.

التطبيقات التي تحتاجها فعلاً في the Czech Republic
All of these apps run on data. You do not need a Czech account or a Czech bank card — a normal credit card is enough. The catch is nearly always the same: sign-up wants an SMS code, and drivers or couriers reach for the phone when something is unclear. Neither works on a data-only eSIM. So create the accounts before you fly, while your usual number still works normally; after that everything carries on over data and in-app chat. For trains, Můj vlak from České dráhy and the RegioJet app get you where you need to go, and IDOS has bus and rail timetables for the whole country. Uber operates in Prague and some other cities but is usually a bit pricier than Bolt. One thing people often notice only at the ticket machine: the Czech Republic pays in koruna (Kč), not euros. Cards are accepted almost everywhere, and in the apps anyway.
PID Lítačka
Tickets for Prague and Central Bohemia: single rides, 24-hour and 72-hour passes, paid by card inside the app. It also shows departures and connections for metro, tram and bus.
The well-known SMS ticket to 90206 only works with a Czech phone number, which this eSIM does not have. Buy in the app instead, or tap your contactless card on the reader as you board.
Bolt
The most-used ride app in the country, running in Prague, Brno, Ostrava, Plzeň, Olomouc and other cities. The price is fixed before you ride and you pay by card in the app — the simplest way around the taxi rip-offs near the Old Town.
The account is unlocked with an SMS code, and the driver phones you if he cannot find you. Set the app up before your trip with your usual number, then message the driver through the in-app chat.
Liftago
The Czech alternative to Bolt and Uber: you enter your destination, several drivers bid with their price, rating and arrival time, and you pick one. It also dispatches regular taxis.
It is effectively Czech-cities-only, so it is no use elsewhere. Registration also runs through an SMS code sent to a number that can receive texts.
Mapy.com (formerly Mapy.cz)
The map Czechs use themselves. It shows every waymarked hiking trail in its trail colour, plus cycle routes, viewpoints, castles and pubs — far more detailed for the Czech Republic than the big map services. Maps can be saved fully offline.
-
Foodora (formerly Dáme jídlo)
Food delivery in almost every larger city, alongside Wolt and Bolt Food. Card payment, and they deliver to hotels too.
Sign-up needs an SMS code, and the courier calls when the address is unclear. Without a phone number he cannot reach you — add your room number and a precise description of the entrance to the order.
Záchranka
The Czech emergency medical service's app. One press of the red button sends your GPS position to the dispatch centre — made for exactly the hiking and mountain areas where you could not describe where you are.
The app is activated once with an SMS code. That is not possible on a data-only eSIM — set it up at home before you travel, using your normal number.
