If you've been using an eSIM for travel or switched providers, you may want to remove unused eSIMs from your iPhone. iPhones typically allow up to eight eSIMs, so clearing out unused ones is a good way to manage space for future eSIMs. Here’s a simple guide on how to delete an eSIM directly from your iPhone’s settings.

Steps to Delete an eSIM from Your iPhone

Note: These steps are for iOS 18. The interface or wording may vary slightly depending on your iOS version.

  1. Go to Settings > Cellular and ensure the eSIM you want to delete is turned off.
  2. In the list of eSIMs, select the one you want to remove. In this example, it's labeled as “Expired eSIM” for easy identification.
  3. Tap on the eSIM (or Cellular Plan) and then tap the Delete eSIM option.
  4. A confirmation message will appear:
This eSIM will be deleted from your iPhone. Your cellular plan will not be canceled. Contact your carrier to get a new eSIM or to cancel your plan.

If your eSIM has expired or you've already canceled the service, you can proceed without issues.

  5. Tap Delete eSIM again to confirm your choice.
  6. Once more, confirm the deletion by tapping Delete eSIM in the final prompt.
  7. You may see a message:
Line No Longer Available. Do you want to update the contacts that were using this line to use your other line?

Select which line to transfer any contacts or call information associated with the eSIM.

After following these steps, you’ve successfully removed the eSIM from your iPhone. If this was a travel eSIM, you're now all set for your next trip with Simbye!
