Can you get a SIM in Argentina without a DNI? What the rule says
Argentina does not sell anonymous mobile lines. Law 25.891 from 2004 makes every mobile line nominative, and ENACOM's Resolution 263/2023 obliges operators to register each user and validate identity, with biometric checks written into the rules. Non-resident foreigners may identify themselves with a valid passport or travel document, but the counters are built around the Argentine DNI, so a shop visit can turn into a longer detour than you planned.
None of that touches you here. This eSIM is issued outside Argentina and rides Claro, Movistar and Personal as a visiting line, so there is no shop, no document check and no waiting for activation.
