How does Simbye eSIM work for Cyprus?

Get connected in under 2 minutes

1

Set it up before you fly

You order, we send an email with a link — that is the whole setup. Tap it once and the eSIM joins your normal SIM inside the phone. It does not use any data or days yet, so feel relaxed doing this at home before the trip starts.

2

Switch it on after you land

Landed in Larnaca, Paphos or Limassol? Open Settings and turn on data roaming for the Simbye line — that single switch is all it takes. The phone finds the strongest of the three Cypriot networks by itself and you are online in moments, often before the seatbelt sign is even off.

3

Stay reachable, extend if needed

Your own card keeps its place in the phone, so you can still be called and texted on your usual number during the whole stay. Staying longer than planned? Add extra days straight from the app — the eSIM simply keeps running, nothing has to be reinstalled.

Check Device Compatibility

Make sure your device supports eSIM before purchasing

Which networks will you be on in Cyprus?

Your phone takes whichever Cypriot network carries best where you happen to be standing — Cyta, Epic or Primetel.

The Simbye eSIM uses 3 networks in Cyprus: Cyta · Epic · Primetel.

You are not locked to one operator here, which matters more on a small island than you would think. Land at Larnaca or Paphos and the line is already registering while the seatbelt sign is still on — by the time you reach the hire-car desk you are online. There is nothing to set up: no APN to type in, no profile to import, no app to open first, because all of that was done when you installed the eSIM at home. If the bars stay empty after landing, flick flight mode on for ten seconds and off again to force a fresh search, and if that fails, turn off automatic network selection and pick one of the three by hand.

Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca and Paphos are solid, and so is the whole holiday strip — Ayia Napa, Protaras, Coral Bay, the beach roads and the motorway between the coast and the capital. It thins out when you head inland and up. In the Troodos mountains the signal follows the valleys and the villages: Platres, Kakopetria, Omodos and Pedoulas are fine, but on the trails around Chionistra and down in the deeper gorges you can lose it for a stretch. The Akamas peninsula is the other honest gap — the rough track past Lara Bay toward the Blue Lagoon, and the floor of the Avakas gorge. Near the dividing line in Nicosia the phone sometimes drifts onto a network that is not part of your plan. The fix is the same: turn off automatic selection and choose Cyta, Epic or Primetel by hand, because where one has nothing, the next often still holds.

eSIM or a local SIM card in Cyprus?

For a week in Cyprus the eSIM is the easier call: it reads Cyta, Epic and Primetel and works from touchdown, while a local SIM ties you to one operator and a counter.
