Which networks will you be on in Poland?
The Poland eSIM connects to the Plus network across the whole country — there is nothing to configure.
Average measured mobile internet performance, nPerf barometer (measured 01.01.2025 - 31.12.2025). What you actually get depends on where you are, the time of day and your phone.
Once you have landed in Poland and the Simbye line is active with data roaming switched on, your phone finds the Plus network by itself — usually while you are still in the arrivals hall at Warsaw Chopin, Warsaw Modlin, Kraków-Balice, Gdańsk or Katowice Pyrzowice. You do not have to type in any settings by hand. If nothing happens after a few minutes, turn flight mode on and off again. If that does not help, open your network settings, switch off automatic network search and pick Plus manually. One thing to watch with two lines in the phone: set the Simbye line as your data line, otherwise your home SIM keeps doing the work.
Plus covers Poland nationwide with LTE. You have solid reception in Warsaw, Kraków, the Tricity of Gdańsk–Sopot–Gdynia, Wrocław, Poznań, Łódź, Katowice and across the Upper Silesian conurbation, as well as in Szczecin, Lublin, Bydgoszcz and Toruń. The same goes for the Baltic coast around Kołobrzeg, Ustka and Świnoujście, the Hel peninsula, Masuria around Giżycko and Mikołajki, Zakopane at the foot of the Tatras and the Karkonosze mountains around Karpacz. It thins out where almost nobody lives: in the Bieszczady in the south-east, on the high trails in the Tatras, in the Białowieża forest and out on the Masurian lakes the signal can disappear for long stretches. That applies to every Polish network there, not just ours — download maps and tickets in advance if you are heading that way.
eSIM or a local SIM card in Poland?
Poland tilts towards the eSIM: local prepaid cards only work once you have shown a passport at the counter, and the packages, menus and top-ups run in Polish, whereas the eSIM is set up before departure in your own language.

When a Poland eSIM pays off — and when you do not need one
Honestly first: if your own plan already covers Poland at no extra charge, you do not need us. We would rather write that down than promise you savings that do not exist — check your carrier app before you travel, it tells you what applies abroad.
It gets expensive or awkward in four situations. First, when your home contract treats Poland as a foreign country: billed per day or per gigabyte depending on the operator, often with a daily fee that is charged the moment you glance at the map. Second, when your allowance abroad is capped: once it is gone you pay for every extra gigabyte or get throttled, even though there is still data left in your domestic bundle. Third, when you want no contract and no registration at all — a prepaid card in a Polish shop is only issued against a passport and an entry in your name. And fourth, the second line: a work phone, navigation in a rental car, a tablet or the kids' phone, without touching your main plan.
Where the network reaches and where you should download in advance
Between the big cities Poland is well covered. On the A2 from the German border via Poznań to Warsaw, on the A4 from Görlitz via Wrocław to Katowice and Kraków, and on the Warsaw–Kraków rail line you stay online essentially the whole way, and many PKP Intercity trains add WiFi on top. In the old towns of Kraków, Gdańsk and Wrocław, around the Palace of Culture in Warsaw and inside the shopping centres, reception is never an issue.
It thins out away from those corridors. On the high trails in the Tatras above Zakopane, in the Bieszczady in the far south-eastern corner, in the Białowieża forest and out on the Masurian lakes between Giżycko and Mikołajki, the signal can vanish for long stretches. That is true of every Polish network there, not just ours. If that is where you are heading, the same rule applies as for locals: save maps offline, download tickets in advance and tell someone where you are going.
The ID requirement applies to Polish SIM cards, not to this eSIM
Since the 2016 anti-terrorism act, Poland requires every prepaid SIM to be registered to a real person. Without a passport or ID card you will not get a working SIM in a shop, and anonymous cards simply do not exist there. This eSIM is not covered by that rule: it is not sold in Poland, it connects to the Plus network as a foreign line. You do not have to register anywhere or queue anywhere.
A second point only affects very old handsets: Plus is switching off its 3G network from December 2026, and Orange and T-Mobile have already completed the process. It changes nothing for your data, which runs over LTE anyway — but a phone without 4G will be left without a connection in Poland.
